Klorane dry shampoo with nettle: fresh roots in two minutes

The alarm went off too late, an appointment is looming and your roots have lost their lightness. No time to wash, dry and style? Dry shampoo was invented for exactly these moments. Klorane's version relies on a plant we all know: the nettle.

What is nettle dry shampoo?

According to the product sheet, it is a purifying dry shampoo with nettle and vitamin E, designed for oily hair. It comes in a 150 ml can. The principle of dry shampoo is simple: a fine powder sprayed onto the roots absorbs excess sebum and is then brushed out. The result: lighter roots and refreshed hair, without any water.

Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) grows wild along paths, near farms and in gardens. Its stinging hairs make it dreaded to the touch, yet it has always been used in the countryside: as a spring soup, as a garden fertiliser brew and traditionally in hair care.

How to use it

• Shake the can well before each use.
• Divide your hair into sections and spray from about twenty centimetres away onto the roots, section by section.
• Leave for about two minutes, giving the powder time to absorb excess sebum.
• Massage gently with your fingertips, then brush thoroughly to remove any powder residue.
• Finish with a blast of cool air from the hairdryer if you want more volume.

Mistakes to avoid

• Spraying too close: the powder concentrates and leaves white marks, especially on dark hair.
• Using too much: start with a little and add more if needed.
• Replacing a proper wash: dry shampoo helps out between washes but does not replace washing with water, which is still needed to clean the scalp.

Precautions

Aerosol: a few safety rules. For external use only. Do not spray towards the eyes or face and do not inhale; use in a well-ventilated room. Pressurised container: protect from heat and sunlight, do not pierce and do not burn, even when empty. Follow the instructions on the packaging, particularly regarding naked flames. Keep out of the reach of children.
