Phyto 7 Elixir: a hair oil blending seven oils for dry hair

Central heating in winter, sun and swimming in summer, hairdryer and straighteners all year round: the lengths of your hair go through a lot. A well-chosen hair oil then becomes a small comfort ritual. Phyto 7 Elixir makes that its speciality, with a formula combining no fewer than seven plant oils.

What is Phyto 7 Elixir?

According to the product sheet, it is a care oil for dry hair that leaves it supple and silky. Its lightweight texture, with a sparkling scent, coats and nourishes the hair without weighing it down. This multi-use formula is enriched with 7 botanical oils: camellia, jojoba, hazelnut, coconut, macadamia, grape seed and meadowfoam. The bottle holds 100 ml.

Seven oils, seven personalities

Each of these oils has its own story. Camellia oil is pressed from the seeds of the shrub of the same name, well known in Asia. "Jojoba oil" is actually a liquid wax from the seeds of Simmondsia chinensis, a shrub of the North American deserts. Meadowfoam oil comes from Limnanthes alba, a small white-flowered plant. Hazelnut, coconut, macadamia and grape seed round off a blend of varied textures.

How to use it

As a pre-shampoo oil treatment

• On dry hair, spread a few pumps of oil over the lengths and ends.
• Leave on for fifteen minutes to an hour, with your hair pinned up or under a towel.
• Then wash with your usual shampoo; a second wash can help if your hair is fine.

As a finishing touch

• Warm one or two drops between your palms.
• Smooth them over the ends – on damp hair before blow-drying, or on dry hair to tame flyaways.
• Start with very little: adding more is easier than taking it away.
