Evabio neutral soap: everyday washing without a strong scent

Not everyone wants to smell of rose or lemon after a shower. Some people wear a perfume they do not want to clash with, others are quickly bothered by scents, and others simply want one soap for the whole household. For all of them, a neutral soap is often the easiest choice.

What is a "neutral" soap?

In everyday language, a neutral soap is one without a pronounced scent and without ingredients highlighted for their smell or colour. It focuses on its main job: washing the skin. That does not make it an ordinary soap, though – it all depends on how it is formulated.

According to the product sheet (see the documentation tab), Evabio neutral soap is a superfatted soap whose neutral formula is described as extremely mild and designed for all skin types. Like the other soaps in the range, it comes wrapped in transparent paper made from wood fibre.

Superfatting in a nutshell

A superfatted soap contains a small share of oils that are not turned into soap during manufacture. These oils stay in the bar and make washing gentler: skin feels less tight after rinsing.

Who is it for?

• If you wear perfume: a soap with no pronounced scent will not compete with your eau de toilette.
• If fragrances bother you: you get gentle cleansing without an overpowering smell.
• For the whole family: one bar by the washbasin that everyone can use for hands and body.
• For frequent hand-washing: gardening, DIY, cooking… a mild soap is well suited to frequent washing; remember to dry your hands thoroughly afterwards.

How to use it

• Wet the bar, lather it between your hands or on a washcloth, and wash with gentle movements.
• Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
• If your skin is dry, follow with your usual cream: with no fragrance of its own, the soap will not interfere with it.
• Keep it on a draining soap dish, out of standing water, so it stays firm and lasts longer.

Precautions

Even a mild soap is still a soap. For external use only. Keep it away from your eyes, and if any gets in, rinse them well with clean water. Every skin is different: if yours is very reactive, try the soap on a small area first, such as the inside of the elbow, and stop using it if redness or discomfort appears. For washing an infant, or if you have a skin problem, ask for advice at the drugstore.
