Goat's milk and activated charcoal soap: for shiny skin
A black bar that surprises at first glance: Evabio's goat's milk and activated charcoal soap is a favourite for shiny skin. What activated charcoal is, and how to fit this soap into your routine.
Contents
A forehead that gleams by mid-afternoon, a nose that shines in photos: combination and oily skin types know this small annoyance well. For them, morning and evening cleansing matters a great deal – as long as it does not strip the skin. Evabio's soap combining goat's milk and activated charcoal answers both wishes: skin that feels clean, without tightness.
What is activated charcoal?
Activated charcoal is charcoal of plant origin (wood, coconut shell and so on) that has been processed to develop a highly porous structure with a huge internal surface. In cosmetics it gives products their characteristic black colour, and it is valued for its ability to pick up excess sebum from the skin's surface during washing.
According to the product sheet, this is a superfatted soap, enriched with goat's milk, combining activated charcoal with moisturising qualities. It is wrapped in transparent paper made from wood fibre. Our druggist recommends it for washing the face and body, as a cleanse that helps absorb excess sebum.
Why a superfatted soap for shiny skin?
Using a rich soap on oily skin may seem contradictory. In fact, overly harsh cleansing often leaves skin feeling uncomfortable. A superfatted soap, which keeps a small share of unsaponified fat, cleans without that stripped feeling.
How to use it
On the face
- Wet your face with lukewarm water.
- Lather the soap between your hands; do not rub the bar directly on your face.
- Massage the lather in with your fingertips, focusing on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and keeping away from the eyes.
- Rinse thoroughly until no trace remains, then pat dry.
- Finish with your usual product for combination skin.
On the body
In the shower, it suits areas that tend to look shiny, such as the back or chest. On drier areas you can alternate with a neutral goat's milk soap.
How often?
Morning and evening, or just in the evening if your skin prefers. Watch how it responds over the first few days and adjust.
Precautions
Before you start. For external use only. Avoid the eye area; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water. If your skin is sensitive, try it first on a small area, for example along the jawline. If your skin has persistent blemishes or reacts, ask for advice rather than adding more and more products. Keep the soap on a draining dish, out of the reach of young children.
