Argiletz white clay mask: a gentle first clay mask to try
Never tried a clay mask? White clay is the ideal place to start: gentle, understated and made for delicate cleansing. Our tips for the Argiletz mask.
Contents
Plenty of people hesitate to try a clay mask, worried about skin that feels tight or a flushed face after rinsing. If that sounds familiar, start with white clay. It is the most understated member of the family, the one usually suggested for a first try or for skin that likes to be handled gently.
What is white clay?
White clay is usually kaolinite, also known as kaolin. The name comes from Gaoling, a hill in China where clay for porcelain was once dug. Its pale colour and fine texture make it popular in cosmetics, especially in powders and masks.
According to the product sheet, the Argiletz white clay mask wraps the skin in softness and leaves it looking rested and radiant. It comes in a 100 g size, designed for the face.
Our druggist recommends it as a face mask for gentle cleansing and clearer-looking skin.
How to use it
- Cleanse your face and pat it dry.
- Prepare or scoop out the mask as directed on the packaging.
- Apply it with your fingertips or a brush in a generous layer over the face and, if you like, the neck. Leave the eye area, eyebrows and lips free.
- Use the waiting time to lie down for a few minutes with your eyes closed.
- Before the mask dries completely, rinse with lukewarm water using circular movements, then pat dry.
- Finish with your usual cream.
When to do it
Once a week is usually enough. Evenings work well: your skin does not have to wear make-up afterwards, and the ritual fits easily into a relaxing moment after a shower or bath.
White, pink, yellow, red or green?
Argiletz makes its masks in several colours. White is the most neutral; pink is aimed at delicate skin, yellow at dull complexions and red at dry skin. Green, which is more vigorous, is rather suited to oily skin.
Precautions
Even a gentle mask deserves a test. For external use only. Before the first application, try it on a small area, for example under the jawline. Avoid contact with the eyes and rinse thoroughly with clean water if needed. Do not apply to broken skin. Close the packaging tightly and keep it out of the reach of children.
