Argiletz fine-ground green clay 1 kg: masks for oily skin

A forehead that shines by the end of the day, a slightly glossy nose: when skin readily produces sebum, many people turn to green clay. The trick is to pick the right grind. Argiletz's fine-ground green clay, in a 1 kg pack, sits between the granules you have to soak and the very finest powder.

What is fine-ground green clay?

Green clay is extracted, dried and then sold in several forms. These do not change what it is, only how it is prepared:

• granulated: raw pieces that need a few hours to soak up water;
• fine-ground: a powder that mixes directly with water;
• ultra-ventilated: an even finer powder that dissolves in seconds.

How to use it

A mask for shiny areas

• Put one tablespoon of clay in a glass or ceramic bowl.
• Gradually add water, or a floral water, until you have a creamy paste that does not run.
• Apply to cleansed skin, focusing on the forehead, nose and chin and avoiding the eyes and lips.
• Leave on for about ten minutes, misting with a little water if the paste starts to dry.
• Rinse off with lukewarm water and apply a light cream.

For the body

The large pack also lets you mix a more generous amount for the back or shoulders, using the same method. Prepare the paste just before use: wet clay does not keep.

Once or twice a week

A green clay mask is not meant to be a daily routine. If your skin feels tight or reddens easily, space out the applications and choose a gentler clay, such as white or pink.

Precautions

Good habits. For external use only. Test the clay on a small area of skin before your first mask. Avoid the eye area and do not let the clay dry until it cracks. Argiletz states that its green clay must not be applied to open wounds. Put leftovers in the bin rather than down the sink, and store the pack closed, dry and out of the reach of children.
